This antique 19th-century primitive wood sled features an elongated open ladder frame, curved wooden runners, and iron-shod running edges with curled terminals. The aged hardwood and iron construction gives the piece a distinctive, authentic rustic and folk-art character.

Originally designed as a snow sled, its narrow architectural form also makes it an unusual decorative ladder-style rack or sculptural object. The weathered surfaces bring texture and character to primitive, rustic, farmhouse, country, and eclectic interiors.
